This is an impromptu speech made by my “greatest boss so far,” Notty, during the BTCCON09. He has left PAGCOR formally today and I can’t help to post his message to somehow inspire me everytime I read it.

“To the AGA family, the AGA friends–tunay talagang mga kaibigan–at sa mga kasama sa PAGCOR, maraming salamat. Alam n’yo nung una, masaya lang ako kasi I have met good people here in PAGCOR and I know you have inate greatness in you. So, because you chose to stay, I hope you stay with meaning. Ibig sabihin, ‘yung ibinigay sa inyo would be used properly and for the greatness of this company that you want to serve.

As for me, I am leaving with a happy heart, because (hindi naman ito masamang separation), it just so happened that I have to find a new mission for myself. And I have felt that, ‘yung mga nagawa natin is all done, and it’s time for somebody else to grow,  time for somebody else to take in-charge–para iba naman–hindi natin ma-monopolize ‘yung mga great ideas, ‘yung mga magagandang gawain. So it’s really passing the torch to other people. And hopefully, they will do great, and with your help and with your support, para (well, Pagcorian pa rin ano, so we have to) ma-achieve natin ‘yung vision ng PAGCOR.

So the dream is still there. The vision is still there. Anyway, sabi nga n’ung isang tanong noong nag-orient kami sa San Sebastian last week, ‘If PAGCOR is a corporation, sino ang mga incorporators?’ Sabi ko, ‘The answer there, is: the incorporators are you and I, because we are citizens of this Republic. We own PAGCOR!’ So we should instill that in our hearts. We are stake holders of PAGCOR not just employees but as owners. We own the corporation.”
